GRANT WRITING
Picture
A $5,000 Lowe's Grant for Outdoor Ecology and Art Workspace allowed students to design mosaic benches for a more workable outdoor learning space.
Grant Writing is one way parents and teachers help sustain programs, add projects, and buy needed equipment and materials.  Just like fundraising, our ability to win grants is increasingly critical to our school's development.  In the past we have successfully acquired funding for:
- A wide variety of equipment such as computers, a salad bar, solar panels and garden tools
- Projects such as the creation of a wetlands ecosystem and monarch habitat
- Program support for Music and Ecology

Our parents and teachers write many grants every year in order to continue the trend, and we can always use more help.  For the forseeable future, our focus for grants will be to explore funding opportunities to build a stand-alone Ecology/Art classroom in the garden.  Additionally, we will continue to submit grants for needed equipment and program support as the opportunities arise.  If you are interested in helping out, or if you know of a foundation whose funding interests match our goals, please contact Julie Moore @ smithju501@gmail.com
