WINTER WEATHER NOTES
Coldness greets us. Stay warm.
All students are welcome in the Annex until bell rings at 8:15. Parents can join their kids if they want to in the annex. It may be crowded so Mrs. Crespo asks that if you can get there as close to 8:15 as possible (instead of too early) that will alleviate some crowding. Extra staff will be available to help kids, if needed, to their classrooms from the Annex. (Note that parents need to stop at the annex doors and let their kids continue to their classrooms) Homeroom teachers will continue to greet their students at their entrance doors at 8:15.

Big Night Planning - Need Many Volunteers
Tuesday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Plans for Big Night, Waters’ biggest fundraising event of the year, will be kicking off right after the holidays. The fundraising team needs many volunteers for silent auction items and overall event planning to make this amazing night happen. This is a really fun way to get to know some great Waters parents and get more involved with the school, with a fabulous event at the end!
The next planning meeting for this great event is Tuesday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m. If you would like to attend (and we hope that you do), email Sandi at email@example.com to find out more.
Tues, Feb. 10, 6:30pm
The meeting will include a Special Presentation from the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education (CAPE), as well as Sub-Committee updates on Communications, Budget, CIWP, PPLC, and Principal Evaluation, and an update on the Amundsen boundary. All are welcome to attend.
NWEA-MAP Mid-Year Assessments
Upon our return to school in January, we will begin NWEA- MAP mid year assessments. This is a midyear academic check in for students which helps our staff to determine growth of each student. It also helps them determine areas that need to be further developed in order for each student to progress.
