FINE ARTS
MRS. VECCHIONI  |  Visual Arts
MS. MELVIN  |  Music
MS. GARCIA  |  Drama

The Fine Arts teachers at Waters use the arts to express world culture and current events. The Fine Arts are used as a learning tool as well as an enrichment program. Arts integration is embraced in all curriculum areas and integrated with classroom subject matter to provide a stimulating and holistic approach to learning. Student-based showcases happen regularly throughout the year.

Visual Art
The visual arts curriculum functions as a STEAM-based arts integration model that aims to teach cultural studies and social activism through real-world experience and project-based activities. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of art, the art room functions as a Makerspace that practices design thinking and Growth Mindset in all student experience.
For more information about this program, please visit Mrs. Vecchioni's visual art pages.
To view student digital arts portfolios, visit Artsonia.

Music
The music curriculum introduces students to music theory, the joy of singing, and playing instruments. The program also references historical relationships to cultures, arts and academics. Music education helps build character, knowledge, and cultural and artistic diversity in our students.

Drama
The Waters drama teacher works with all students, K-8, to develop their self-confidence and self-expression skills by encouraging creative forms of expression at all ages. Projects range from Kindergarten music and movement classes to skits and plays for the older students.
