FUNDRAISING EFFORTS
Fundraising is critically important to the success of our school. It enables us to provide programming above and beyond what CPS offers our students.
Our award-winning Ecology program and our full-time Music program are two of the largest budget items we help fund. To do this we organize two main fundraising events during the school year and several other smaller events. We encourage families to take part in any way they can. ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
Annual Give to Waters WatersToday has run a year-long donation and pledge drive beginning in September. We ask for either a one-time, up front donation or a monthly monetary commitment from every family to primarily help maintain our music and ecology programs. We ask for everyone’s participation in the pledge drive as every little bit helps. On November 19, 2015, we will hold an adult’s only celebration at Himmel's. Everyone who has donated for the 2015-16 year school is invited to attend and have some fun. You can even pledge at the door that night. Waters Big Night This is our biggest event of the year and will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Dank Haus. This is a fantastic, fun, adult’s only evening complete with silent auction, games, beverages and food. We appreciate any and all ideas, donations and help we can get with this big event. Keep an eye out for information on this event in the Green Notes and our Facebook page. Holiday Craft Market WatersToday plans and organizes the Holiday Craft Market, an annual community-wide event that supports primarily local artists; this year's 5th Annual Holiday Art Sale will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Other Events Other fundraising events are organized with local businesses throughout the school year. All details and dates will be published in Green Notes and on our Facebook page. We will also send at least one flyer home per event. If you would like to get involved or just stay in the fundraising loop, contact [email protected]. OTHER WAYS TO RAISE MONEY FOR WATERS
With little effort and no monetary commitment on your part. And spread the word to extended family and friends. The more people who participate, the better! Show Your School Spirit If you would like to show your support for Waters by purchasing a Waters t-shirt for $15 , mug, water bottle or car magnet, please email [email protected]. Recycle Recycle empty printer cartridges and old cell phones. Turn them into the office and we will turn them into money! Target Red Card
If you have a Target Card, go to www.target.com/tcoe or call 1-800-316-6142 and add Waters Elementary (school id 45994) -- Waters receives 1% of your Target purchases. If you don’t yet have a Target card, consider getting one, as (in addition to 1% for Waters) You will get 5% back on all of your Target purchases. BoxTops for Education Collect BoxTops for Education, which are found on General Mills, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Kleenex, Ziploc and many other products. Please drop your BoxTops in the big collection box in the Main Office. Labels for Education Cut out the UPC from products such as Campbell’s, Spaghettios, Swanson, Prego, Pepperidge Farm breads and snacks, Goldfish Crackers and V8 (caps). Not all eligible products have these symbols near the UPC yet, so feel free to turn in the whole label if you are unsure. Check Store Receipts Check store receipts for bonus programs. If you see a redemption code at the bottom of your receipt, or get a bonus coupon for boxtops, drop it in the office collection box promptly. Tyson Project A+ Clip and save Project A+ labels from participating Tyson products. Clip the entire 1,2,3 section and please cut outside the lines to get the whole section – they are apparently very choosy. Each complete label is worth 24 cents! |
