LOCAL SCHOOL COUNCIL
Some of the main responsibilities of the LSC are to conduct principal evaluations, work with administration and school body to create the School Improvement Plan for Advancing Academic Achievement (SIPAAA) and approve the school’s budget. The LSC does not hire or evaluate teachers, determine class sizes or create the budget.
LSC meetings are held once a month and are open to the public. There is time for public comments in each meeting so you are encouraged to attend to hear the latest LSC news and voice your concerns.

Tues, March 23rd Meeting Notes
A community SIPAAA (School Improvement Plan for Advancing Academic Achievement) was held Tues, March 23rd in Waters Gym.
The SIPAAA is based on 5 mandated areas the CPS outlines for the school. Waters School staff and LSC tackles those areas in the best ways they see appropriate.
Those parents at the meeting were encouraged to give written feedback on forms. They were also given IN PROGRESS FILES, DRAFTS ONLY, of what teachers and staff are working on as the SIPAAA develops to its finality. Waters administration is allowing those files to be downloaded for your feedback as well.
All feedback is due this Friday, March 26th, before Spring Break. Please see below to download those forms. Turn them into the office.
After Spring Break, another community meeting will take place in response to this feedback. Date to be determined.
