TECHNOLOGY

Here is just a glimpse of what they are up to.

Our technology program is designed to enhance student learning while encouraging the development of critical thinking skills and creativity. National Educational Technology Standards (NETS))guidelines are followed, ensuring that students are exposed to many different aspects of technology use. Technology instruction supports classroom curriculum and Illinois State Standards.

Our Technology program includes:

• classroom instruction for all students
• special projects which integrate technology and fine arts into the classroom curriculum
• TechCrew
• Technology Integration Pilot Program (TIPP). Through this three year pilot program Waters 6th grade students received laptop computers each year. The program ended last year, but we continue to utilize the computers to enhance student learning, including through the MyAccess Writing Program.
• Waters also is a participant in the Office of Academic Enhancement's Technology Magnet Cluster Program. This project gives schools with funds to provide technology professional development to teachers as well as opportunities to share technology integration ideas and projects with other schools.
