LETTER FROM PRINCIPAL CRESPO
Dear Parents;
Fall weather is upon us. Please be sure to send your child to school with appropriate clothing for the changing temperatures. We make every attempt for children to enjoy the outdoors during recess but if it is cool and your child does not have a jacket, we hesitate to send them outside.
Cubs fever has descended on Waters as they play the Mets to try and secure the National League Championship! We encourage our student fans to wear Cubs apparel on game days.
Thank you for helping Waters achieve 94% compliance through up-to-date student medical information. Families who have medical appointments scheduled for their child(ren) must turn in the medical forms as soon as possible upon completion.
--Mrs. Crespo
HELP WATERS SUSTAIN THE ECOLOGY AND MUSIC PROGRAMS
Thank you to all who have had the time to contribute to the Annual Give to Waters. The $100,000 we hope to raise fund our Ecology program and half-time Music program. Hopefully, every student and some parents have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Leki and have experienced the uniqueness of our Ecology program. And, without the half-time Music funding, our students would not be able to participate in Music class all year round.
Any amount donated counts towards enhancing students' experience at Waters! Donate today.
FALL SPORTS
We now have a Wildcats Calendar on our Sports Page on the Waters website where you can find out about upcoming games, contact coaches and learn about upcoming sports seasons.
Cross Country
The Cross Country team competed in the Area Meet on October 10. Many runners showed strong improvement: up to over a minute in some cases! Coach Kurz is proud of what they have accomplished in a short amount of time. Congratulations to the boys' 5/6th team for placing fourth in the network.
Girls’ Volleyball
The 5/6th grade girls' volleyball team played two games against Rogers last week. They did a wonderful job working together as a team and won both games.
The 7/8th girls’ volleyball team achieved a convincing win against West Ridge. In a great match against Rogers, the girls unfortunately missed out on a win. The team sits at 3-1 for the year.
Soccer
Both soccer teams lost against Rogers on Friday. The boys’ 5/6th soccer team lost a really close one in the final minute against Rogers school. Both teams are continuing to show great improvement, while having a lot of fun. Go Wildcats!
