Sunday, October 23 – Waters Garden 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Join us Sunday afternoon for garden camaraderie and some work, too. We have a lot of wood chips and some soil to shovel and move. Dry locust and silver maple leaves can be raked and collected. These leaves are a nice source of carbon for the compost pile and are stored to use as needed. This is also the time of year for harvesting seeds from the rare native grasses, sedges, and flowers surrounding the gardens. They are harvested to increase the plant diversity in other areas of the garden and riverbank. Lend a hand on a lovely Chicago afternoon!
