Sign up for one of our after school CAPE (Chicago Arts Partners in Education) classes! Flyers to sign up were sent home with students on September 12th. Space is limited to 20 students per class! Please sign and return sheet to Mrs Ramos in room 105 by Monday September 16th. Names will be posted outside the main office by 3:15pm on Monday, September 23rd. All classes run 3:15-5:15pm on their indicated days. Students will be picked up outside the cafeteria after school, so please have them bring or snack or they can get one form the cafeteria. We will dismiss at 5:15pm outside the main office doors. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up on time. All classes go until May 2020. Students are expected to attend both sessions each week. If your child is unable to attend please email the teacher for the class. Students who miss more than three sessions will be dropped from the program. Here the five exciting class that will be offered this school year: “ECO-Creations" (formerly Costume Creations) Grades: 4-8 Tuesdays and Thursdays (starting on Tuesday, September 24th) Earth friendly art, fashion, and music program that focuses on green living and social justice awareness. Taught by: CAPE artist Patricia Okulinski and Waters teacher Ms Hooper Digital Photography Grades:3-6 Tuesdays and Thursdays (starting on Tuesday, October 1st) Learn the ins and outs of digital cameras to create beautiful photographs! Photograph people, places, and objects and experiment with your camera to learn about stop motion animation, light painting, and so much more! Taught by: CAPE artist Jessica Rodrigue and Waters teacher Mrs Ramos Drama Grades: 3-5 Mondays and Wednesdays (starting Monday, September 30th) Discover acting, movement, music, and learning about the wonderful ENVIRONMENT around you in this fun after school program! Taught by: CAPE artist Sonja Moser and Waters teacher Mrs Johnson Multicultural Dance Grades: 1-3 Mondays and Tuesdays (starting on Monday, September 30th) Learn and perform different styles of dance such as Jazz, Salsa, Folk dance, Hip-hop and more. Work with other students to create and perform your own dances! Taught by: CAPE artist Megan Rhyme and Waters teacher Mrs Roman Dark Star Orchestra Grades: 4-8 Wednesdays and Thursdays (starting on Wednesday, October 2nd) This year we’re starting an all new and exciting orchestra where you will be able to play and experiment with musical instruments as well as build new ones to create our own musical sound.
