Our 5/6th grade girls' volleyball season wrapped up this week with a season of 2 wins and 2 losses. The girls did a wonderful job, with their skills noticeably improving each day. Mrs. Barta thanks all of the parents and families for their support this season. She wishes everyone all of the best and also sends out a huge thank you to all of the girls, parents, families, Mr. Kurz, and Mr. Orlov who participated in the Parent/Daughter volleyball game that was held on October 28th.

UNCLAIMED CLOTHING PICKUP Thursday November 5 Lost and Found area, near Kinder hallway – 3:30-4:30 p.m. Friday November 6 Lost and Found area, near Kinder hallway – 3:30-4:30 p.m. There is an overflow of clothing that has remained unclaimed. Next Thursday and Friday afternoon two volunteer parents will set up 1-2 tables in the lost and found area and lay out the unclaimed items. Kids and parents can come by the Lost & Found each of those days after the bell rings to find their stuff. Volunteers will stand by the tables to assist and bag the items up each day. Any unclaimed items after Friday will be taken to a donation site on Monday, November 9. NEW LOST AND FOUND PROCEDURE The new procedure to manage the cabinet on an ongoing basis will be 1-2 volunteers coming in at least two times per week, once to tidy up the cabinet and fold or sort items on shelves or into bins, then again Friday to bag unclaimed items and take for donation. Due to the somewhat limited space we anticipate having to take items away for donation 2-3 times per month instead of once per month as we did last year. ![]() Free Pre-Tryout Clinics Monday November 2 Monday November 9 Waters Gym – 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tryouts Monday November 16 6:30 – 7:30 PM (No cost) Teams will be announced on November 17 by 5:00 p.m. The fee for the season will depend on the number of players. Her family started cleaning the tank over the summer with a Python hose purchased from Oak Park Natural Pet & Fish
The store owner worked with Carolyn to acquire bigger fish to fit the 75 gallon tank at Waters. The new fish at school include rainbow fish, red-eye tetras, harlequin rasboras, catfish, a pearl gourami, a yo-yo loach, a Siamese algae eater, and a bristlenose pleco. Carolyn does a partial water change and cleans the filter every few weeks to keep the aquarium clean and healthy for the fish. Thanks Carolyn and family! ![]() Tuesday, October 27 Room 112B (Art room) – 3:30-5:00 p.m. Families are invited to create handmade papel picado for our upcoming Día de lo Muertos Pop-Up Gallery and Parent Ofrenda.
