Waters Garden Work and Potluck Dinner​
Sunday, October 1 – Garden 1:00-4:00 p.m., Dinner 6:00 p.m.
Please join us for a working afternoon in the Waters Garden, followed by a community pot luck dinner. We have lots of split rail fence to install, leaves to collect for future composting, a cedar shed to reorganize and general grounds tidying. Supervised garden work is 1:00-4:00 p.m. Come for an hour or come for the afternoon. Or just come for the potluck!

We'll test out the community oven for roasting dinner. The oven will be ready around 5:00 p.m. Roast a chicken, roast some veggies, braise something, bake some cookies, bring a side dish, bake some bread, be creative! Both the oven and grill will be ready for cooking. Potluckers, please bring the rest (foods for the oven, roasting pans, food for the grill, sides and smiles). Green Explorers Club for Grades K-5 
Mondays after school
Green Explorers Club teaches kids the tools of sustainability while building a healthy curiosity for life sciences and the environment. Our weekly classes teach sustainability through hands-on experiments, projects and activities that help kids learn to live more sustainable lifestyles. Right at School after-school classes are open to Waters students and students from other schools, and a portion of Right at School fees benefit Waters School!

Bilingual Advisory Committee (B.A.C.) Meeting

​Come join us for a light snack and refreshments as we elect the new members of the Bilingual Advisory Committee and discuss what new topics and workshops will be offered this school year. All are welcome!
Workshop will be held in English and Spanish.

Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE) is sponsoring several after school programs at Waters that will run from October through May. 

• Multicultural Dance – 1st-3rd grade students
• Drama and Culture – 2nd-4th grade students
• Constructed Photography – 3rd-6th grade students
• Costume Creations – 4th-8th grade students
• Movie Magic – 4th-8th grade students

Check student folders for sign up sheets this week or download them from the virtual backpack. Program space is limited and students will be chosen by lottery. See individual forms for details.

Free Art/ESL Program for Parents
Tuesdays/Thursdays, October-May – Teachers' Lounge 8:15-10:15 a.m.
Spend one hour learning English and one hour making art using the English you have learned! Parents at all levels of the English language are welcome to participate in Arte Sin Barerras at Waters School. No art experience required. If you know parents in our community who may be interested in this free program, please spread the word. Questions, please contact Mrs. Ramos.
