Do you have an incoming kindergarten student for the 2017-18 school year? Know of neighbors and friends within the Waters boundaries who are planning to send their children to Waters this coming school year? Get the word out and encourage any family with new students to officially register for Waters right away.

Registration is vital in helping the administration plan for classroom and staff assignments. The school's budget is based on a per registered student allocation. You will need to bring proof of your child's age and two documents showing your current address. Learn more about required documentation and health requirements.

Saturday, August 5 – Indian Boundary Golf Course 9:00 a.m.
We are so grateful to all our golfers and sponsors that will be participating in Waters' Inaugural Golf Outing benefiting the children of Waters Elementary on August 5 at Indian Boundary Golf Course. We will be e-mailing all current golfers their tee times shortly. We do still have room for golfers but you must register or contact us by Monday, July 24 to participate. We have also added a Lunch & Awards Only option to our registration, so if you are not a golfer but would like to join us in what is expected to be a very fun outing, then sign up today! Riverbank Neighbors Fundraiser

Riverbank Neighbors Fundraiser
Monday, July 24 – Half Acre Tap Room and Brewery 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Join us on Monday, July 24 for a Riverbank Neighbors Fundraiser at Half Acre! Riverbank Neighbors is a community organization that has restored and managed the east bank of the Chicago River from Montrose to Berteau since 1994, through a lease arrangement with NeighborSpace and the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD). It is a volunteer organization that seeks to improve the ecology of the river and riverbank, improve river access, and develop a deep sense of community in our neighborhood. Riverbank Neighbors is also a long-time partner with Waters School. It includes a number of school families and alumni. Waters students visit the riverbank path for field ecology trips and science experiments.

Ticket price: $45 before July 24, $50 at the door
Ticket includes: house beers and sodas, taco bar, live music, brewery tours

Record Year for Fundraising and Volunteering at Waters

Over 1,000 Hours Volunteered and Over $200K Raised for WatersToday
We've tallied up the volunteer hours and the money raised through the generous support of our amazing school community. Last school year saw parents and family donating over 1,000 hours of their time to help the students of our school. We also raised over $200K (wow!) through our many fundraisers that will be used to support student enrichment efforts this coming school year.

A huge thank you to the entire community – parents, family, businesses, neighbors, students, teachers and staff – for your generosity and your willingness to help in every way possible.

Volunteering at Waters
The 1,000 volunteer hours are just the ones we could count and don't include the countless hours volunteers have spent making copies for teachers, helping in the classroom, supervising field trips, planning events, helping the Ecology Program, or serving on the Local School Council (LSC), Bi-Lingual Advisory Committee (BAC) or the WatersToday Board.

Without volunteers, we couldn't pull off many well-loved events and activities, including (but definitely not limited to) Harvest Day, Scholastic Book Fairs, the Holiday Craft Market, Visual Arts and Technology Shows, Pi Night, Wildcat Walk-a-Thon, Field Day and many more.

Funding Great Programs for Waters' Students
The $200K + we raised will support the extras that make Waters school great. Your generosity supports the upcoming school year programs: 100% of the Waters Ecology Program, 50% of the Music program, and recess and lunch supervision so that our teachers have more time for their lesson preparation. And it doesn't stop there. The funds raised this past year will also support this year's coach stipends and sports equipment, and some pretty cool supplies for the arts, technology and science programs. Find out more.
