The New Aspen Parent Portal

The New Aspen Parent Portal
As of April 22nd, Parent Portal has been replaced with Aspen. Aspen will provide the same capabilities of the old Parent Portal while adding new features including Graduation Requirements, Student Fees and a new, easy-to-use mobile interface.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To access the new Aspen Parent Portal, all current portal users and parents who are interested in creating an account for the first time must set up a new account. Existing Parent Portal accounts will not automatically be transferred to Aspen. Follow the steps below to set up a new Aspen Parent Portal Account.

superpower: compileHer Tech Capstone 2019

On April 27th, 2019, a 7-hour event called superpowHer, will take place at the University of Chicago. Girls will work in teams to learn how they can use technology as a superpower through a series of hands-on activities led by University of Chicago students and professors covering exciting topics in computer science.

The day will be kicked off with an address by Ms. Brenda Darden Wilkerson, founder of the CS4ALL initiative in Chicago and current CEO of the AnitaB.org foundation.

Registration is free & open to all 6-8th grade students who identify as female or gender non-binary in the Chicago-land area. The link to register is bit.l//superpowHer.

My School, My Voice Parent Survey

DEADLINE: Tuesday, April 30
Parents and guardians of CPS students are invited to complete a survey about their child's school. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and is available in several languages. It is completely anonymous. Link to survey.

CyberKidz Workshop

Monday, April 22, 7 p.m.
We will host CyberKidz, a cyber security awareness workshop sponsored by JP Morgan Chase. This workshop is for parents (students are welcome to accompany their parents) to learn more about cyber safety. Topics covered include how to stay safe online, protecting personal information, cyberbullying, apps and sites that are safe/ok/unsafe.

Arts in the Garden Summer Day Camp

Ms. Hooper and Ms. Collins-Gonzalez are proud to announce this summer’s Arts in the Garden Camp. With support from the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education, we will be offering a FREE summer camp for art enthusiasts entering grades 5-8. Throughout camp we will spend our time outdoors learning about our native flowers, creating garden art, painting, drawing, practicing photography, journaling, and much more!

When: Tuesday-Thursday /July 9th-July 25th / 9:30-12:00
Where: Waters School Garden
Who: Students Entering Grades 5-8 (Space is Limited)
