Teacher Appreciation Week
Monday, May 1 – Friday, May 5

Monday – Say It With Flowers
Bring in flowers, or plant, or even a decorated planter for your child's teacher. Extras for the auxiliary staff – aides, specials, lunchroom, office, etc – are needed too!

Tuesday
Catered lunch provided.

Wednesday – An Apple a Day and It's Crystal Clear
All staff will get a shiny crisp apple and a water with drink mix, and a clever pun.
Available in the office or teachers' lounge on Wednesday.

Thursday – Thank you Thursday
Make posters/signs for your favorite teachers and faculty. Consider your homeroom, specials, office, aides, and support staff. Make them big and colorful. I'm making a candy poster for the front office or teachers' lounge. Check out Pinterest or Google images if you want to make one too.
Volunteers are needed to help hang posters, please email the WatersToday volunteer team if you can help.
**Posters need to be turned in by Wednesday afternoon so we can hang them at school prior to Thursday morning.**

Friday – Breakfast of Champions
This has become at Waters Teacher Appreciation Week tradition, for 10 years strong, and the teachers and faculty love it! Make it special adding your own flavor – think of it as a potluck to the stars.
We need paper goods, proteins, carbs, fruit, veggies, dairy, and sweets. Homemade specialties tend to be some of the teachers' favorites!

Please email by Wednesday, May 3, and let us know what you're providing. Be creative. We need to make sure we have enough of everything and not too much of any one thing. If you are able to help set up at 7:30 a.m., greet teachers from 7:50-9:30 a.m., or clean up from 2:30-3:15 p.m., please let us know.

Thank you so much for your help in making it a special week for our special WATERS staff!

Make & Play Day Part 2 – Bring your carboard, scissors, duct tape and your imagination to our spring cardboard design challenge. We will be joining elementary students, high school students and life-long learners around the nation as we celebrate 2017’s
Global Day of Design. We will practice design thinking and collaborate with friends and family as we build original constructions inspired by our design theme: LOCOMOTION!

This all-ages event is rooted in our school’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) initiative and is an exciting day full of child-centered, hands-on learning that shares how the Maker Movement is reinventing education in the 21st century.
