3/28/2019

Picture
The Waters Local School Council (LSC) invites staff and parents/community members to provide feedback via survey for consideration in our annual Principal Evaluation for Ms. Kipp. The surveys are based on the competencies that the LSC uses for evaluation. The goal of each evaluation is to encourage Principals to reflect and grow in the areas of concern, and to provide well earned praise in areas of merit. The deadline for completing the surveys is Wednesday April 10th (midnight), to give us time to consider the feedback before conducting our evaluation at the next monthly meeting.   Questions?  Email LSC President Erica Smith.

Roosevelt High School Open House

3/26/2019

Inviting 8th Grade Students and Families Interested in Roosevelt High School

Open House program for families to learn about many opportunities at Roosevelt High School. Thursday, Apr. 4, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm.

Please join Roosevelt High School for an  Open House on Thursday, April 4th, from 5:30-7:00 pm.  Learn about exciting new programs and developments at Roosevelt, including being one of only 32 schools across the city to receive high-quality academic programmatic investments totaling $32 million dollars over the next six years!  In addition to our already successful CTE Program, Arts Program, and Scholars Program, Roosevelt will now be offering a Teachers Academy Program and a Dual Language Program. What makes Roosevelt unique is that these new programs, and others such as our Scholars program, are not mutually exclusive, and so this opens the door for any student at Roosevelt to take high level academic classes, be a part of a CTE program, and attain the Seal of Bi-literacy, filling a great real-world need for bilingual people in a variety of careers.

Think you know about Roosevelt High School?  You don’t know the half of it! Join us for a Welcome presentation, school tour, and attend breakout sessions tailored to your student's interests. You don't want to miss this! See for yourself why ROOSEVELT IS RISING!

Career Academies:
  • Medical Careers
  • Computer Technology: Game Programming and Computer Network/IT
  • Culinary Arts
  • Roosevelt Teaching Academy - Learn to be a Teacher!
  • Scholars Program
  • Dual Language Program
Advanced Academics
  • The NEW Roosevelt Scholars Program (4 Year College Preparation track through rigorous Honors and AP coursework)
  • The NEW Seal of Bilingual Literacy Program (Promoting Fluency in World Languages)

This Open House will be a fun, family event with lots to see and do: try hands-on activities, meet students, teachers and staff, and learn about the excitement for Roosevelt – a true Chicago Neighborhood High School.
