Right At School Spring Break Camp
March 26-30 – Waters Annex 7:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Extended Day 6:00 p.m.

Right At School offers fantastic full day programs for your children during school vacation periods. These specialty programs are designed to be more camp-like than our traditional programs, balancing enrichment with friends and fun. Register now! A minimum of 15 students registered is needed to run the camp. Questions, email Christopher Dino.

Join us as we celebrate one of the most iconic record labels and the music that helped shape the landscape of American culture. 

Watch our students as they dance and sing to the classics and to some of the more recent musical contributions from, "Motown!" Rock Band and Choir will perform at each of the concerts.

"The Times and Life of Pluto"
​Wednesday, April 25 – Waters Gym 
Performance Times: 8:30-10:00 a.m., 10:05-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m.

"The Times and Life of Pluto" is a musical play written, produced and directed by Ms. Garcia. It will be performed by the 5th grade classes: 304, 307 and 308. We hope that parents and community members will come out and support our students! Questions, please email Ms. Garcia.

Waters Chess Team on "Chicago Tonight"

News Show to Feature CPS Chess Programs
Thursday, March 22 – WTTW Channel 11 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Waters very own chess team, led by Mr. Prado, will be featured on a segment of WTTW’s news show "Chicago Tonight." The show is doing piece on chess programs in CPS and the CPS playoffs, which took place this past Saturday. Tune in to channel 11 on Thursday during the show’s 7:00 p.m. broadcast for the segment. Students were filmed and interviewed during a recent chess club practice. Although we don’t know what will actually be broadcast, we do expect our students to make an appearance. Local School Council Candidate Forum
Tuesday, March 20 – Waters Annex 7:00 p.m.

Waters will be hosting a Local School Council (LSC) Candidate Forum on Tuesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. to give the community an opportunity to meet the candidates and hear their ideas for the LSC. We have six candidates for parent representative, three candidates for community representative, two candidates for teacher representative, and one candidate for non-teacher staff representative. A list of candidates and Information about the forum and election can be found here and candidate statements here. The election will take place at Waters on Wednesday, April 18, on report card pick-up day. Those elected will serve July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020.

April 2 - 6 – Waters Main Office
Do you have an incoming kindergarten student for the 2018-2019 school year? Know of neighbors and friends within the Waters boundaries who are planning to send their children to Waters next school year? Get the word out and encourage any family with new students to officially register for Waters during the first week of April. Early registration is vital in helping the administration plan for classroom and staff assignments. You will need to bring proof of your child's age and two documents showing your current address. Immunization records are also required prior to the start of school. Learn more about required documentation and health requirements.

Girls on the Run Starts Wednesday!

Waters Girls on the Run Program
Starts March 14, Wednesdays and Fridays – Waters 3:15-5:00 p.m.
Girls on the Run is a 10-week program for girls in 3rd-5th grade that encourages girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others while inspiring an appreciation for fitness and healthy habits. The program ends with a 5K which is on May 19, 2018.

Pi Day Fun!

Pi Day Celebration and Family Math Festival
Wednesday, March 14 – Waters Annex 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Please join Waters teachers and administration for a school-wide Pi Day Celebration and Family Math Festival. Students and parents will choose three math and technology activities to rotate through, including games, stories, and crafts. Pizza and pie will be for sale (remember to bring cash) in the annex to raise funds for the 8th grade trip to St. Louis. If you are interested in helping to run an activity, contact Mr. Gil, and please let us know you're coming so we have enough pizza and pie! Volunteers needed, sign up here!
