Block painting starts next week. Join Ms. Vecciohini in the art room after school or head to Leah's house for painting on Saturday. It's free to paint a block so don't miss your chance to be a part of the project! Get more details and sign up. If none of the times work for you please contact Leah Rieger to find a time. ![]() Preliminary Track Meeting Monday, February 26 – Waters Room 308 3:15 p.m. If you're interested in track at Waters, please join us in Mr. Wall's room after school Monday. This will be an initial track team meeting for students to get information and register for running track. The meeting is open to all girls and boys grades 5th through 8th. Tuesday, February 20-Friday, February 23 – Waters School All K-8th classrooms will be showcasing and sharing recent engineering units, design thinking projects, Genius Hour activities and robotics curriculum with peers and families. Ask your child what s/he is sharing for National Engineer Week, because we are all makers! Students are exploring the processes of inquiry-based learning and project-based experiences as they share with authentic audiences in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) fields. A big thank you to all of the parent volunteers and community support that has made our celebration possible! Students are invited to attend a Valentine's Day Dance and Popcorn Fundraiser this Friday during school. Tickets are $3 and include entrance to the dance and popcorn. All proceeds to benefit the 8th grade class trip. ![]() Donate Making Materials Ongoing – Art Room Please donate! We would like to reclaim any unused Legos, Knex, Strawbees, Lincoln Logs, Arduino, Playdoh or other making materials to provide new experiences for students in our art room's Free-Choice Studios. If you have any construction or making materials you would like to donate to the art room, please email Mrs. Vecchioni. Thank you! ![]() School Tour for Prospective Parents Friday, February 16 – Main Office 8:30 a.m. The school tour that was canceled last week due the the CPS snow day has been rescheduled for this Friday, February 16 at 8:30 a.m. Parent-led tours begin with a discussion about Waters, followed by a tour of the classrooms and facility at 9:30 a.m. Please sign the visitor's log in the main office upon arrival.
