See you there! ![]() Big Night Planning Meeting Thursday, March 16 – Location TBD 8:00 p.m. We are in the midst of planning for the Big Night fundraising event and our next planning meeting is on Thursday, March 16. Audition forms are due by Monday, March 13, and may be placed in an envelope outside Ms. Garcia's office (room 313) or be given to Ms. Garcia in class. Please do not turn forms in to the office. ![]() Summer Sports and Fun with Mr. Orlov For Incoming 4th–8th Graders July 10–August 18 at Waters School Mr. Orlov will be offering his summer program again this year focusing on volleyball, basketball, outdoor games, wet n' wild games, etc. The program, held at Waters School, is for incoming 4th-8th grade students. These students received the full flyer of information this past Wednesday. A lot of fun was had last summer with this program and we all look forward to another awesome summer! Contact Mr. Orlov for more information. ![]() Drop off in Main Office Week of February 20 Don't recycle that cardboard ... UPCYCLE it! We are reclaiming flat cardboard in the art room this week for our upcoming study of Outsider artist Amos Ferguson. All sizes are welcome, but please cut down any boxes if you can. Cardboard should be thin – cereal boxes, cracker boxes, pasta boxes, snack boxes and the like, not shipping boxes. Children will need to be able to cut it on their own.Please drop it in the main office or have your child deliver it to the art room. We will be collecting cardboard for the next week. All students who are in art will also need to bring in a piece of cardboard (free-choice on size). Thank you for your support! If you are shopping in person, you will likely need to bring the number in with you. You may also link to the purchase to our school after the fact as long as it is within the current redemption quarter. ![]() A Night Out with Mr. Bradford Wednesday, March 1 – Old Town School of Folk Music 8:30 p.m. Thanks to everyone who came out last week to see Friends of the Gamelan at Old Town! We enjoyed great Indonesian music by a great local group. It was very interesting and exciting hearing and seeing so many different instruments on stage. Our next installment of ”A Night Out with Mr. Bradford” will be next Wednesday with a performance by Tamar Ilana & Ventanas. Singer/dancer Tamar Ilana has lived and breathed traditional Mediterranean and Balkan music from girlhood, traveling and performing with her ethnomusicologist/singer mother. Her trans-Mediterranean ensemble Ventanas, founded in 2011, fuse passion and intimate dialogue, embracing the varied instrumental and melodic traditions of North Africa, the Balkans, Turkey and Spain to create fresh interpretations and original songs.
