Waters Tasting Event March 31 at Bottles & Cans

2/24/2016

You already know that excellent local vendor Bottles & Cans (4109 N. Lincoln Ave.), owned by a Waters neighborhood family, is giving Waters 10% back in product for Big Night for every purchase from now until April 30, as long as you mention you're with our school.

Now we have even more of a chance to fundraise for Waters (and drink great wine!). Join us on Thursday, March 31, at Bottles & Cans at 7 p.m. for a fun tasting event (with wine, whiskey, and beer). For everything you buy that night, Waters will get 15% back in product for Big Night. You can also buy bottles of wine and beer at the event to donate for Big Night. Don't miss this fun neighborhood event: Think of it as a Big Night pre-party! No need to RSVP, just show up and we'll see you there.

RAISING FUNDS FOR WATERS
WatersToday – All Year
Waters Parents: Now is the perfect time to make your pledge to the Annual Give campaign OR to increase the amount you have already pledged.
As you have read, Waters has had to use every penny of the school’s funds to keep teachers in the classroom for the remainder of this school year. This means that WatersToday – our parent-run fundraising and volunteer group – will be asked to help.
Now is the time to build up our fundraising account – to increase it well above our $200,000 goal! We need that $200,000 to maintain what we have always funded – Ecology, Music, Recess support and Sports.
Now we will need more.
Please consider donating now - donating money is a very real and important way we can impact our children’s school.
Be sure to ask your employer if they will match it!

 WATERS BIG NIGHT
Saturday, April 30 – Dank Haus 7:00 p.m.

Do you know what this event is?
Do you know why it is incredibly important?
Do you want to know how to help?

Waters’ Big Night: This is our BIGGEST event of the year and it’s when we hope to reach our $200,000 fundraising goal. Waters’ Big Night is important because so far this year we have raised $130,000 towards our $200,000 goal. This money is needed more than ever to keep very important curriculum and programs at our children’s school such as, Ecology, Music, Recess and Lunch supervision, keyboarding programs and so much more!

Can you help? ... In so MANY ways !

➢ Are you outgoing? EXCELLENT – we need donations from local places, not-so-local places and other fantastic places with awesome stuff to bid on.
➢ Are you not so outgoing? GREAT – we need help with emails, set up, registration, planning and more.
➢ Do you have cool experiences or destinations to donate? WE NEED you!

More than ever this year’s fundraising goal needs to be met so that we can keep important things BIG and small at our wonderful school.

Make plans to be there. We'll have:
• Music  • Cash Bar  • Raffles  • Live Auction  • Silent Auction ...
... and having fun with the best community in the city!

Questions? Ask us here.
Let us know how you can help and get ready to make it all happen!
If you're on Facebook, keep your eye out for upcoming meetings in WatersToday Fundraising or the Waters Community Group.

We're RECLAIMING Cardboard!

ART ROOM NEWS
This Week – Donate Extra Cardboard

In the art room we are reclaiming cardboard to create our upcoming artworks inspired by David Butler’s whimsical tin constructions. Reclaiming what has been discarded, making our own materials and enhancing artistic choice are important themes for us as we study outsider artists this semester.

Each student that is currently in art will need one piece of cardboard from home in order to begin their project. Students will choose the size of their artwork based on the cardboard that they claim/reclaim as their own.

If you have extra cardboard, we can always use more! Cereal boxes, shipping boxes and shoe boxes work great. If you can, please cut down all boxes into rectangles so that students can begin their sketches immediately.

Thank you for your support!
Mrs. Vecchioni
