Great Turnout at Garden Event

2/28/2016

Picture
This weekend, Waters’ volunteers organized a school and community garden-planning event at Waters. This event included prescribed burn training, a Riverbank Neighbors meeting, a performance of The Legend of Snake and Turtle, a wonderful potluck lunch, and a seed exchange. Thanks to Carolyn Dean, Julie Peterson, Pete and Debbie Leki, and all the dedicated garden and ecology volunteers!  And thanks to all who donated any amount for a garden t-shirt, all the proceeds went to WatersToday.

Many thanks to Sandi Barlow Stone for pulling it all together and Sandy and Sarah Weisz for running the fun and tricky questions part of the program. And thanks to all who joined us for helping support our school!

RAISING FUNDS FOR WATERS
WatersToday – All Year
Waters Parents: Now is the perfect time to make your pledge to the Annual Give campaign OR to increase the amount you have already pledged.
As you have read, Waters has had to use every penny of the school’s funds to keep teachers in the classroom for the remainder of this school year. This means that WatersToday – our parent-run fundraising and volunteer group – will be asked to help.
Now is the time to build up our fundraising account – to increase it well above our $200,000 goal! We need that $200,000 to maintain what we have always funded – Ecology, Music, Recess support and Sports.
Now we will need more.
Please consider donating now - donating money is a very real and important way we can impact our children’s school.
Be sure to ask your employer if they will match it!
