Thank you to every who came out last night to our LSC meeting! Some good news out of the meeting: We are on track to be certified as a 100% Healthy School status and, even better, our school has once again been rated a Level 1+! Congratulations to the staff and to Ms Kipp for all the hard work that went into reaching these levels. We learned about some of the very impressive things going on at Roosevelt High School, including one of only three dual language programs out of all the high schools in the city. It was a really great presentation and we will get it up on the website as soon as we can. Look for information at school regarding future open houses at Roosevelt. And finally, thanks to Alex Enarson for his presentation on our upcoming nature playspace. He has a vision for a communal space where kids of all ages can engage in activities range anywhere from hanging out to balancing and climbing, or even putting on dance performances with friends. A playspace like this will integrate beautifully with our existing garden and provide a much needed playspace given the loss of our playground. Below are a few conceptual drawings to give a sense of what we could expect. We are targeting this playspace being available sometime in the spring. For more details, email Jason Rieger. |
