Our Stories: Narratives in Patterns, Symbols & Motifs Inspired by Yayoi Kusama
1st Semester All School Exhibit Opening!
All students, K-8, will exhibit three artworks in our 1st semester show inspired by the creative spirit of Yayoi Kusama. Our opening will be January 25, 2019 and will run from 3:15-5:00PM.
All students have the opportunity to be docents of the show and may win fun art prizes. We will also be launching some interactive art studios to share Kusama's use of installations and performance art in her work.

Next Parents of Diverse Learners Meeting! Join us to hear more about "Between Friends," the social-emotional learning curriculum Waters uses for grades 6 and up. All are welcome to join us -- Please come at 5:30 for the parents of diverse learners meeting. The meeting will last one hour. The meeting will be in room 212 in Ms. Bricker. RSVP to Kelli Landes if you plan to attend.
During Digital Media class this week ALL students at Waters will be took part in Hour of Code. Last year, we were some of the 15 million students to take part in this world wide and we are excited to participate again. Each class has a "Certificate" of participation displayed in the school. Stickers were also passed out.

3rd to 5th selected from Frozen, Moana, Minecraft, Star Wars, or Dance Party tutorials.
6th to 8th actually picked from ANY tutorial that they could find on the website.

Join in the holiday fun! The week of December 17th to 21st will include fun dress up days for our students. Monday the 17th is Pajama Day, Tuesday the 18th is Waters Spirit Day, Wednesday the 19th is Ugly Sweater Day, Thursday the 20 is Meme & Holiday Face Paint Day, and Friday is Mistletoe Day. See the attached schedule for more details.
Attention Girls in grades 5th to 8th: Basketball tryouts for the school team will be held in the Waters Gym on Monday, December 3rd afterschool. 5th / 6th will tryout from 3:15-4:15 and 7th / 8th will tryout from 4:15-5:15. Practice times are yet to be determined.

We are already getting ready for our Winter Concerts! Please note there will be 5 concerts over two days.
Kindergarten will have their own concert on Wednesday, December 19th at 8:45.
Also on Wednesday there will two identical concerts. One will be at 9:30 and the other at 1:45. The Wednesday concerts will be featuring 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades.
On Thursday, December 20th there will two identical concerts. One will be at 9:30 and the other at 1:45. The Thursday concerts will be featuring the remaining grades 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th.
Our Waters Choir will be singing at all of the concerts. The exact order of the show is yet to be determined. We look forward to seeing you there!
Do you have a 1st to 3rd grade student who would like to join the CAPE Dancing Class? There is room for more students to join. The class runs from November 20th to May 23rd. It is held on Tuesdays and Thursday from 3:15 to 5:15. Students should attend both sessions each week. Students who miss more than three classes will be dropped from the program. If you have questions or would like to sign up, contact Ms. Roman.
Items will be posted online as soon as possible during the week – usually within 24 to 48 hours. To be included in the Thursday email roundup, please complete the submission form by midnight the prior Sunday.
