Winter is officially here and there will be frigid temperatures this week. Please make sure your child(ren) are dressed for the weather. If it is too cold, we may need to hold recess indoors. While this is not preferred, it is in the best interest of all the children. Please note, as per CPS guidelines, our Kindergarteners will not go outside for recess if the temperature is colder than 32 degrees.
Please remind your child(ren) that there is absolutely no snowball making and/or throwing allowed on school premises. This is an important saftey concern and also applies both before and after school.
Congratulations to our science fair winners and to our students who will represent Waters at the network science fair in January. Thank you to Mrs. Ballasch and Mrs. Delcampo for organizing this annual event.
And a special thank you to Mrs. Hillary Prosser, for stepping in and running our Winter Scholastic Book Fair. I also want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Sebanc for their dedication and time served as Scholastic coordinators for the past years. Your volunteer time and dedication is deeply appreciated.
In addition, I would like to thank Saskia Hofman and Pinar Aral for coordinating and organizing the annual Waters Craft Fair. It was wonderful to see so many local artisans selling their wonderfully creative wares and all the children in attendance seemed to have alot of fun.
Our December LSC meeting is this Tuesday at 6:30pm. Please join us and learn about all the great work in progress at Waters as it relates to our Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP). Mrs. Vecchioni will also present our school's STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) initiative progress and plans.
The next couple of weeks are going to be busy with additional science projects on display for 3rd and 4th grade students and the always popular annual Holiday Performances. Be sure to read the performance schedule closely to see what day and time your child(ren) is/are performing.
Have a great week and stay warm!
