As the year draws to a close, I wanted to share some news with you. After 26 years of teaching at Waters, Mrs. Susan Termini will be retiring. Mrs. Termini founded our technology program at Waters which began when the Apple product of the day was the Apple II E with a floppy disk! There was a time when there was no internet, no email and yes, everything was on paper. And now Mrs. Termini teaches the students to code and to program robots! It is amazing to see where our program began and where it is today. I thank Mrs. Termini for her years of service but more importantly, her willingness to accept a challenge. Her fearless determination has exposed our students to state of the art equipment and experiences. Her countless hours spent working with students before, during and after school will never be forgotten. Thank you, Mrs. Termini, I wish you the best as you move into the next chapter in your life.
Mr. Jeremy King will be moving to Los Angeles, CA, this month. He will join his wife who has taken a new position with a California-based company. Mr. King will be sorely missed. He has been an important contributor to many educational learning opportunities at Waters. Mr. King was a member of our Instructional Leadership Team where he continually encouraged all members to reflect on our teaching practices and helped to forge the work on our CIWP. Mr. King was an advocate for the STEAM initiative, technology developments and he was a member of our science focus group. Thank you for your years of service Mr. King! We will miss you but I do know that a school somewhere in L.A. will be lucky to have you when you enter their classroom.
Thank you to all of the staff and the tremendous supportive school community who together have helped to keep our school moving forward. Have a wonderful and safe summer! See you in September!
