All of our participants this year showed off their work at our annual Science Fair. The top three projects represented Waters at the Area 2 fair in January. Hats off to Ariel who placed in the Excellence category & Jasmine & Kimberly who received Honorable Mention.

STUDENT AWARDS
Waters Students Place in High, including FIRST, in Chicago City Chess Tournament Moses Carrisoza, 1st grader at Waters School, took first place in the All-City Chicago Chess Tournament in his age group last May. Add others who were awarded places

The State of Illinois appropriated funds for this 3 year program and each year 6th grade students receive a laptop. If parents consent, the laptops go home daily. Only 9 schools in Chicago were chosen to participate. Teachers who work with the laptop students meets each week to discuss implementation of the program.
